The Cordish Cos. is scheduled to begin construction of the $140 million, 288-unit Three Light Luxury Apartments development in downtown Kansas City, Mo., in May and the Midland Lofts, a 139-unit, affordably priced adaptive reuse project, this summer.
Three Light is expected to deliver in May 2023 and the Midland Lofts renovations are slated for completion in late 2022.
The two projects will create more than 1,000 construction jobs and a sense of optimism for future of the city’s downtown Power & Light District following the pandemic, according to Nick Benjamin, executive director of the Power & Light District and managing director of multifamily development for The Cordish Cos. ....

The Cordish Companies Announces Start Dates for Construction of Three Light and Midland Lofts in Kansas City Power & Light District

KANSAS CITY, MO - The Cordish Companies announced that the eagerly awaited $140 million Three Light Luxury Apartments will commence construction this May and that construction on the conversion of the historic Midland office building into the 139-unit, affordably priced Midland Lofts will begin this summer. Following the success of its predecessors, One Light and Two Light Luxury Apartments, which have remained 95% occupied throughout the pandemic, Three Light Luxury Apartments will introduce the next stage of urban luxury living in the Power & Light District in downtown Kansas City. Together, these projects will create over 1,000 new construction jobs. Construction will begin in May 2021 on the Three Light Luxury Apartments in downtown Kansas City, Missouri. The developer, Cordish Companies, also announced Wednesday that construction will begin as soon as July 2021 on the Midland Lofts, which aims to bring affordable housing to the downtown area.
