(Photo by Craig Howell) NEW CUMBERLAND The Hancock County Commission, during its meeting Thursday, took time to recognize a local family farm which has been in operation for more than 100 years. According to Commission President Paul Cowey, the Allison/Buckley Farm, located in New Cumberland, first came under the ownership of the Allison family in 1919. ....
Managing editor RECOGNITION During their meeting Thursday, the Hancock County Commission recognized Rebecca Fuscardo and Gaetano Fuscardo, of Fuscardo Concrete in Weirton, for the growth experienced by the company since it was founded in 2017. The mother and son operation has built a portfolio of projects across the country, as well as in Canada and the Middle East. Craig Howell NEW CUMBERLAND The Hancock County Health Department, in cooperation with other local health agencies, continues its effort to provide the COVID-19 vaccines to county residents. Jackie Huff, administrator for the county health department, spoke to county commissioners Thursday, providing an update and noting a vaccine clinic is scheduled for today, with more than 900 residents scheduled to receive their shots. ....

The county Solid Waste Authority, in a letter from Chairman Mark Vignovic, had requested $15,000 from the commission. “This is for their operations,” Commission President Paul Cowey noted. The Hancock County Solid Waste Authority was created in 1989 by the state Legislature, with the mission of developing a comprehensive program for solid waste collection, processing, recycling and disposal for county residents. ....
