COVID-19 doesn t slow industrial training for Auburn Career Center students FRANK ESPOSITO Auburn Career Center Ohio s Auburn Career Center has been able to keep its training schedule on track throughout the pandemic. The vocational school s programs include training for the plastics industry. Auburn Career Center in Lake County has successfully navigated its way through COVID-19 in the last year. “We did have to shut down for two weeks, but other than that we finished classes and have seen enrollment be strong,” staff member Michelle Rodewald said in an email to Plastics News, a sister publication of Crain s Cleveland Business. “We added an online component to all of our classes to give students an opportunity to continue learning at home if they have to quarantine or if they get COVID,” added Rodewald, who serves as Auburn’s director of adult workforce education and business partnerships. “We have also used Zoom when students need to Zoom into class to be safe.�
