Antonio M. Evans, 26, was charged Dec. 2 with armed robbery and home invasion, both Class X felonies. The charges were sealed until Wednesday, Feb. 17, because Evans was not in custody. The case was presented by the Alton Police Department. According to court documents, on Nov. 17 Evans, allegedly armed with a silver handgun, entered a home in the 800 block of Ridge Street in Alton while at least one person was there and stole $3,000 in cash.

Womack, 69, of Alton, for two counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, both Class 4 felonies. The case was presented by the Alton Police Department. On Oct.3 Womack allegedly was found to be in possession of less than 15 grams of alprazolam and oxycodone hydrochloride. Bail was set at $15,000. • William D. McGiffen, 33, of Alton, for unlawful possession of methamphetamine, a Class 3 felony. The case was presented by the Alton Police Department. On Aug. 7 McGiffen allegedly was found to be in possession of less than five grams of methamphetamine. Bail was set at $15,000.
