them to postpone the state wrestling championships in bakersfield this friday. i just don t want other kids to get this. it s really not worth it for anyone else to have this. it s totally preventable. reporter: blake says the problem is some students wrestle even when they re infected and try to hide it so they can compete. i ve definitely seen kids with makeup on on different sores or what not trying to hide it from the refs when they do the skin check. reporter: blake s mother says she just wants parents to note risk, something never knew. as a parent i would want to know about it. we were never notified. and i m hoping that things change. the protocols need to change. it s a lifelong disease that our son s got to deal with now. reporter: the family alerted coaches about blake s diagnosis and are hoping that south bay schools will consider establishing better protocols to stop the spread of infectious. for now he s focusing on graduating and going to coll ....
