When all the hollering is over and the legislative session finally adjourns, much of the post-mortem analysis will center on the major bills passed. A good deal of that focus will be appropriate, particularly with lawmakers spending newfound as well as stimulus money rather freely. If enough wise heads can come together to make real progress in improving Coloradoâs deteriorating roads and transportation arterials, so much the better.
However, at the moment, it seems that such affirmative steps would be gravy. And that the most important service our elected representatives could render would be to summarily kill a number of ill-considered, unnecessary proposals that have arisen from various quarters.

This week, MBW revealed that BMG and investment giant KKR have jointly committed to spending over $1bn on music copyrights (for starters) via a new deal-hunting partnership.
Meanwhile, speaking of investment funds, Andre de Raaff‘s Netherlands-based CTM has formed a new venture with Dallas-based Outlander Fund with the ambition to invest $1 billion in copyrights over the next five years.

Eliah Seton announced his exit from Warner Music Group, where he had served as president of independent music and creator services since February 2019. Now, the executive has revealed his next move: He s joining SoundCloud as president.
SoundCloud announced the appointment today (April 8), and it is effective May 1. In his new role, Seton will manage the streaming service s business strategy, oversee content partnerships and business development, lead mergers and acquisitions and take over the company s distribution and artist services businesses, Repost by SoundCloud and Repost Select. He will continue to be based in New York, reporting directly to SoundCloud CEO
