'The future of the country is in our hands': 2024 MLK Day celebration calls for engaged citizenship

Have we taken our eyes off the prize? This is the question fueling the theme for this year’s annual MLK Day observance. The University of Kentucky, along with the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government and other community sponsors, will kick off this year’s MLK Day celebration at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 15 with the annual holiday Freedom March, beginning at Central Bank Center in downtown Lexington. Directly following the march, the Commemorative Program will be held at 2 p.m. at Central Bank Center. ....
