Investigators were able to identify the suspect and also determine that there were two additional underage victims, Chula Vista police Lt. Dan Peak said at the time of Fleer s arrest, adding that the offenses had no connection to Fleer s employment. The ensuing criminal complaint referenced a fourth victim, with all charged acts occurring between March 27 and April 8 of last year. Prosecutors said the victims, identified as Jane Does 1 through 4 in the complaint, did not know one another. How Fleer met the victims has not been disclosed. ....

CHULA VISTA Two men who pleaded guilty to attacking participants at a Black Lives Matter protest in Imperial Beach last summer and punching a Black journalist covering the event were placed on probation Monday. Jeffrey Brook, 39, and Henry Brooks Jr., 33, both admitted hate-crime allegations in connection with the June 7 attacks on Marcus Boyd and a group of protesters. Brook is sometimes identified as Brooks in documents. Prosecutors accused the men of “verbally and physically antagonizing” participants in the march at the Imperial Beach Pier Plaza. Brooks threw eggs at the demonstrators and Brook, the older defendant, sucker-punched Boyd in the head as he was recording the protest, causing him to fall backward and hit his head on the ground, according to the San Diego County District Attorney’s Office. ....
