Capital City controlled the trenches. The Cavaliers ran for 418 yards on 45 tries, led by Jaylen Thomas with 294 yards on 24 attempts, to build a dominant 49-7 win against the Truman Patriots on Friday at Capital City High School. “We were able to run basic offense against a big D-line,” Capital City coach Joe Collier said. “Jaylen ran well, (Evan) Schaffer ran well. He ran the offense like he usually does. I thought everybody contributed well.”
The Capital City Cavaliers are continuing to expand. As the Cavaliers move through the final third of the regular season, they are trying to get their offense back on track while developing it in ways that will force opposing defenses out of stacked boxes.
