HOUSTON – A jury sentenced a man to 45 years in prison after he was convicted in a 2018 rape of a Montgomery County woman.
Jorge Arturo Mar Jr., 26, was convicted on charges of aggravated sexual assault. He will not be eligible for parole until 2041.
A news release from Montgomery County authorities said that during trial, the state presented evidence that on August 1, 2018, Mar raped the woman at knifepoint in his vehicle in Spring. After the rape, Mar stole the woman’s phone and left her stranded. The woman was eventually able to call 911, and deputies from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office responded. ....
