Meriden police: Woman charged with manslaughter in fatal pedestrian crash

MERIDEN A 27-year-old woman turned herself in Friday on a warrant, charging her in connection with a fatal crash from August, according to police.
Alyssa Forster was charged with second-degree manslaughter while intoxicated, driving while under the influence of alcohol and failure to maintain minimal insurance. She was released on a court-set $35,000 bond.
Sgt. Stanley Zajac, of the department’s Accident Reconstruction Unit, said the charges stemmed from a fatal pedestrian crash that occurred on North Broad Street on Aug. 20, 2020 around 12:30 a.m.

Alyssa Forster, 27, 122 Charles St., Apt. 112, was charged on the night of the incident with evading responsibility and reckless driving. She turned herself in to police on Friday and was also charged with second-degree manslaughter while intoxicated, driving while under the influence of alcohol and failure to maintain minimal insurance.Â
Police responded to the area of 2121 N. Broad St. on Aug. 23, 2020 around 12:37 a.m. for a report of a crash, according to police. Officers were told a man was laying on the side of the road in the northbound lane near the town line with Berlin. Berlin police also responded and performed CPR on the man, l
