Curfews were imposed in more than a dozen american cities, but they were ignored. And as night fell, a rising tide of anger gave way to displays of arson, looting and anarchy. All chant. Many of those protests had started peacefully. We cant breathe, the mantra of a movement that has taken George Floyds final words and turned them into a rallying cry. I cannot breathe.
