MLK Scholarship
Applications for the city of Belen Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Multicultural Commission annual scholarship is due 4 p.m., Tuesday June 15.
Applicants must be a high school senior who will attend an accredited college, university, vocational or technical institution in the fall of 2021. Three $500 scholarships will be awarded. The scholarships are co-sponsored by the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. New Mexico State Commission.
Applications are available at the Belen Public Library, from Kathleen Pickering, 966-2604, and Belen High School, from Royceann LaFayette, 966-1362. Completed applications must be returned to the library, 333 Becker Ave., Belen.
Community-wide yard sale
A community-wide, multi-family yard sale will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, May 15, at 1065 N.M. 304 in Las Nutrias, across from the Manual Sanchez Center. COVID-19 safety practices will be followed, including mask wearing, social distancing and available hand sanitizer ....
