New Mexico health leaders gave an update Wednesday on the COVID-19 pandemic.

Overall, New Mexico health officials are pleased with vaccination rates across the state.
“As of today 71.8 %, of New Mexicans 18 and older have received at least one shot. 64% are fully vaccinated,” said Dr. Tracie Collins, New Mexico’s Health Secretary. ....

New Mexico health officials may change the COVID-19 color map


ALBUQUERQUE – New Mexico health officials provided updates Wednesday on the state s COVID-19 response, noting the vaccination effort against the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus continued to show rapid progress and that the gating criteria on state s Red to Green framework might be tweaked as a result.
New Mexico Health Secretary Dr. Tracie Collins, in her biweekly update, reported that 57 percent of state residents age 16 and older, representing 957,914 people, had received at least an initial dose of a two-shot vaccine against COVID-19 disease, while 39.4 percent (662,213 people) were fully vaccinated, meaning two weeks had passed since receiving the final dose. 
With the single-dose vaccine developed by Johnson & Johnson still on pause following reports of a few recipients developing blood clots, overall vaccine supply tightened with 104,400 allocated to New Mexico last week.  ....
