Metro Nashville Police Department Homicide Unit detectives are investigating the death of a woman found dead on Sunday just south of a KOA campground.
Officers responded about 6 a.m. to a small parking area on Pennington Bend Road near Music Valley Drive after a passerby reported seeing the woman lying in the parking area underneath the Briley Parkway overpass.
Responding officers found the woman dead, police reported, with bruising to her face.
Police are asking the public for help identifying the woman.
Police described the victim as a white woman in her 30s. She had two tattoos, one on her left forearm of an hour glass with the name Pamela and another on her lower back of a yin and yang symbol.
