Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has inaugurated the Leechubagan reservoir as part of the South Central Guwahati Water Supply Project. The project aims to provide clean drinking water to the residents of Guwahati. The reservoir has a distribution capacity of 4.5 lakh litres per day, and a distribution network spanning 130 kilometers has been established. The Leechubagan Distribution Zone is expected to serve approximately 20,000 households in three phases. The project is part of a larger initiative to provide water to over 55,000 households in Guwahati by 2025. ....
