212 votes for jeffries. and then the six holdouts. now, we know that wesley hunt came back and voted for mccarthy and we are assuming that block and gosar vote for mccarthy. he would be at 216. gosar has already voted. buck is coming back to vote for him. hunt voted for him. that would be a two-step hundred 16. we assume all 212 democrats continue to vote for jeffries. now we have this time from lauren boebert, something we haven t had before, a present vote. what that president vote does from lauren boebert does, it means the total number of votes cast it would probably be 433. and the magic number, with 433 votes cast, is 217. that s a majority of 433. so what that would mean s gaetz would be, if he votes for mccarthy, the 217th vote. that would be the only path, ....
