There are 10 institutes engaged in this and so its a partnership with the fda and nsf as well, there are many different federal agencies involved and lots of private partners. The important thing to talk about is this. I think that in the house and senate theres an ambition to weigh in on this as well. And this is not about specific diseases or Brain Disorders but developing the technologies to be able to understand how the brain works and we are already being fantastic tools being developed across the country without wanting to say too much about it at this time. Billion to the ayatollah khamenei, who chants death to america in front of mobs burning american and israeli flags. And even though it threatens the security of israel and potentially the lives of millions of americans, i believe that congress has the constitutional power of the purse but i believe congress can still do nothing whatsoever to protect the american citizens. I believe that congress can do nothing to protect religious liberty or free speech, that Congress Must quietly accept an i. R. S. That targets citizens for exercising their Constitutional Rights and a president who ignores federal law. And federal judges who disregard the text of the constitution. I believed Republican Leadership when they promised the American People that if only we ....

Particularly at sections 101 and 102, which deal with residency slots, the use of provisions of regulations that we feel strongly that these would be a positive aspect to allow us to develop more residencesy programs in va to have the potential to recruit residents from those programs to provide care for veterans. I think also looking at section 300, which deals with additional provisions that put Network Directors and Medical Center directors under title 38 and allow us to be more competitive as we recruit in all localities and address complexity challenges that are facing a number of our locations, these are all going to be very positive actions that will help us i think be competitive in the Health Care Market today. Im going to join as a cosponsor of this measure. I think it is absolutely vital and i thank to ....

The hearing will come to order. We are here to discuss the president s fiscal year 2016 budget request for the department of Veterans Affairs. Mr. Secretary, welcome to the committee. Understand that your testimony will be a little bit different today than what we are accustomed to with reference to chart to help us better understand what you are seeing in terms of the challenges that lay ahead and i would say that is indeed a welcome change. So too is the open as you have had with me with members of this committee and this congress about your plans to change the culture at the va. As your testimony illustrates you have been extremely active in visiting va facilities. I think its well over 90 at this point, talking with employees veteran groups in your private sector colleagues with one aim in mind, putting everyones focus squarely on the needs of veterans. Thank you for your willingness to take the job of secretary and thank yo ....

In iraq, we were there on the ground collecting so we had data bases to use. The concern is in syria, the lack of our footprint on our ground in syria, that the data bases wont have the information we need. It is not the lack of process, it is the lack of information. And is there ways that you could suggest we go about trying to get this information . I just dont think you can go and get it. You are talking about a country that is a failed state. It does not have any infrastructure so to speak so all of the data sets, the police, the Intel Services that you would go and seek that exist dont exist. And that raises grave concern as being able to do proper background checks of the individuals coming into the country. Yes. All right. Now, mr. Taylor, thank you for your testimony as well. And as a member as chairman of the subcommittee on transportation and i look forward to working together for the
