“I was in complete shock when people told me Sim Scott Park was gone, and the damage that was done to Hunt (School),” remembered Fred Shelton. “I was like, ‘Really?’ So I sent someone over there, and they told me, ‘No, it’s really gone.’”
Hunt Intermediate Academy, once R.E. Hunt High, now teems with life as construction workers are in the beginning stages of rebuilding what was damaged by an EF-3 tornado in February 2019.

Moore, 49, grew up in Southern California; attended college in Hawaii and Utah; fulfilled his mother’s dying wish by becoming a Mormon missionary in South Africa; joined a childhood friend in Taiwan where he taught English; worked on a presidential campaign in Iowa with his half-brother and canoed the Mississippi River from its source at Lake Itasca in Minnesota to New Orleans.
