Elijah Hewson was conceived by Paul David Hewson in Dublin, Ireland, on May 10, 1960. He was brought up in the suburb of Finglas by Iris and Brendan Robert “Weave” Hewson. Iris died when Bono was only 14 years of age. He grew up adoring David Bowie, Bob Dylan, and Leonard Cohen and was associated with companions in a surrealist road posse called Lipton Village.
