Members of the Falkland Islands Legislative Assembly shared a Christmas best wishes message in the last session of 2023. Be it not for defense, which remains a UK responsibility, the eight elected members of the Assembly are in fact the internal government of the Falklands.
Members of the Falkland Islands Legislative Assembly on behalf of the People of the Falkland Islands extend birthday greetings to His Majesty King Charles The Third on his 75th birthday, on 14th November.
The Falkland Islands Government attended both the Conservative Party Conference in Manchester (1st to 4th October) and the Labour Party Conference in Liverpool (8th to 11th October) and met with a number of senior politicians from both parties, including Cabinet and Shadow Cabinet Ministers, to discuss issues of importance to the Islands, alongside welcoming MPs, Councillors and Party Members to the Falkland Islands stand.
Deputy Chair of the Legislative Assembly, MLA Teslyn Barkman said: “Myself and the other Members of the Falkland Islands Legislative Assembly would like to be clear that this news from Brussels changes nothing. The EU themselves have issued a statement to say that they have not changed their views and positions concerning the Falklands.
