The proposal to the council was for the extension and easement of Walter Garrett Lane.
Peterson explained following the meeting that the proposal is for the city to acquire land located on Walter Garrett Lane in order for the road to be extended and straightened for the future purpose of creating a commerce park.
“That’s the first step in trying to attract industry and factories into that area to make it kind of a commerce park for the city of Oak Grove and Christian County,” Peterson said.
“So, we have been in discussion with the landowners and (city council) to try to get this started. Basically, all we’re doing right now is starting the process and this was the first step in that process to do some development over there.” ....
