Well, this morning a winter storm system is triggering heavy snow in the southwest, southern rockies, and the plans. Up to 8 inches is expected in some areas as the system heads east. Winter weather advisories and warnings are posted in new mexico, texas, oklahoma, and colorado. Rain and thunderstorms are expected over parts of the gulf coast. It started snowing in the denver area yesterday. The snow is expected to have cleared out by this morning, but temperatures will drop to near 10 degrees make for slick roads and treacherous travel.
