Faith Maternity Care (FMC) exists to serve women who choose to carry their babies to full-term, by providing a home for expectant mothers, along with community client services for moms who already have a place to call home. Our success as women is tied to other women. Our ability to flourish as mothers is tied to other mothers. Without other women to encourage us, to spark ideas for a solution, and to have someone else who gets us , we might not make it through the gauntlet of the toddler world, into the teen years of raising our children and beyond. It takes a few besties in mom life to keep your smile, joy, and excitement of motherhood. Someone needs to be there to help us grow as women and mothers. Shelley discovered a community need for a club to support mothers and reached out to a few women of faith, to link arms with her in this endeavor. Both Melissa Leisinger and Michelle Love replied with a resounding YES! Thus, the Callaway Moms Club was born.

Fulton s Court Street was abuzz last Saturday with a joy-filled event at The Brick District Playhouse. St. Mark s Episcopal Church of Portland, MO hosted their inaugural A Celebration of JOY event. Approximately ninety people registered for the full-day event that focused on joy, with monetary and gift donations collected to benefit FMC. Faith Maternity s new outreach coordinator Rebecca Luntsford, along with executive director Shelley Knight, were greeted with brightly colored streamers and given fabulous swag bags. The swag bags contained our very own FMC sports bottle, a limited-edition event t-shirt, and other goodies. Shelley and Rebecca received warm hugs from Reverend Jessica, Melissa Leisinger, and Michala Dillon. The day was filled with sessions of worship,
Students in the Thunderbird Academic Program at North Callaway High School recently presented handmade "Hug-A-Blankets" to the Callaway County Sheriff s Department to provide comfort to children throughout the county.
