A BOYFRIEND swung a machete around and trashed his former partner’s home after failing to accept their long-term relationship was over.
Mark Broad “terrorised” his ex over six months when he was unable to cope with the fact their love affair had ended.
The 34-year-old, of Clos Y Goedlan, Garndiffaith, Pontypool, was slammed by the judge who sentenced him.
Recorder Mark Powell QC told Broad: “You were waving a machete and she was petrified of you.
“She has also been living in constant fear of you.
“You embarked on a course of conduct for six months which inspired terror in her and which significantly effected her mental health.” ....

Ebbw Vale drug dealer and Tredegar musician grew cannabis

“When they entered the building, they found an extensive cannabis cultivation and contacted the police.
“The defendant Bernard soon came home and told officers, ‘I’ve been doing this to change my life and become a musician.
“My sister was killed in an accident and I never had any compensation.
“Nothing in my life has come to any good.
“I can’t even pay my rent.”
Mr Davies said analysis of Bernard’s mobile phone led them to her co-defendant.
When he was arrested at his Ebbw Vale home, police recovered more than £5,000 in cash.
The defendants were growing 66 plants at their cannabis factory in Tredegar. ....

Ebbw Vale man threatened to kill neighbour in 'drunk stupor'

A GWENT man who threatened to kill his neighbour in what he described as an “angry drunken stupor” was sentenced at Cardiff Crown Court on Friday.
Robert Williams of Tabernacle Court in Ebbw Vale threatened neighbour Taylor Pagett with a knife, and warned her to stay away from her home, during the strange ordeal on the afternoon of November 1 last year.
The court heard how Williams, 58, was awoken by shouting outside his flat at 3pm in the afternoon, by which point he’d already drunk 10 cans of lager that day.
He left his flat with a kitchen knife and made threats to Ms Pagett, and warned her to stay away from the area. ....

Boss and driver stole thousands from Tata Steel in Newport

“Matthew Pritchard was an employee with MCL and worked as a shunter lorry driver.
“Michael Sheppard was an employee of Tata. He was a deputy shift manager who also operated machinery concerning steel coils.”
Following an internal company inquiry, it was discovered stock worth £25,000 was missing with an investigation pointing the finger of blame at the two defendants.
Sheppard, 45, of Islwyn Street, Abercarn, admitted the theft of two steel coils worth £12,500.
Pritchard, 43, of Kingsland Walk, St Dials, Cwmbran, pleaded guilty to stealing four steel coils worth £25,000.
The offences took place towards the end of 2018.
Mr Davies added: “There may have been others involved. We can suspect but we can’t prove. ....
