email article A novel protein-based multitarget fecal immunochemical test (mFIT) for colorectal cancer (CRC) screening was superior to conventional FIT in detecting advanced neoplasia, particularly advanced adenomas, Dutch researchers found. If performed on patients every 2 years, mFIT would reduce CRC incidence and death by 12% and 8%, respectively, assuming a 73% adherence rate, compared with conventional FIT screening, reported Meike de Wit, PhD, of The Netherlands Cancer Institute in Amsterdam, and colleagues.
