Kenny Davis, a Medill junior, said her journey to finding a summer internship was challenging. A seemingly endless amount of applications, numerous rejections, and postponed extracurricular pursuits describe her sophomore winter and spring quarters, she said. After being rejected from 99 internships, this summer, she said she is working remotely as a social media intern.
Evanston streets, parks and the Lakefill were more lively than usual on Sunday as families took walks, rode bikes, organized barbecues and played games in celebration of Father’s Day. “Today, we chose to come to the lake, enjoy the water and beach, spend some time together and then probably have dinner as well,” said Jesse.
The rhythms of Dabke dance, the scents of Mansaf and warak enab, and the sounds of poetry and song filled the Louis Room at the Norris University Center on Friday evening as students celebrated Arab American Heritage Month. Organized by the Middle Eastern and North African Student Association, some students said the Arab Expressions event.
