When you look at the roster for the No. 6 Catholic University women’s lacrosse program, you won’t see one of the unique details that makes their team special. Of the 35 student-athletes, over a third (13) of them are nursing majors.
Head coach Meghan O’Connor McDonogh, Ph.D. believes that having so many student-athletes with the same major helps the squad in more ways than one.
“The great thing about a young person that chooses to pursue a career in nursing is that they come with inherent care and desire to serve others,” says O’Connor McDonogh, Ph.D. “While not all of our athletes are nursing majors, that theme permeates throughout everyone in that they truly do care about one another. They love helping each other improve both on and off the field.”
