Gagarin, Arquin win school board seats in Sunderland

SUNDERLAND Following Saturday’s annual town election, Sunderland School Committee member Peter Gagarin will retain his seat on the committee for another three-year term, while the committee also welcomes newcomer Meghan Arquin.
Christyl Drake-Tremblay was elected to the Selectboard, filling the seat left by member Scott Bergeron, whose term ends this year.
The annual election, which saw 198 voters out of a possible 2,459, was held at the Sunderland Public Library from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday.
In the only contested race on the ballot, Peter Gagarin and Meghan Arquin were elected to the School Committee, with 153 and 95 votes, respectively. Alison Booth Maio and Kara Gorey were the two other candidates running for the two open seats.
