Former Navy WAVE Honored On Her 100th Birthday

When a young farm girl from Milton, Vermont, decided to serve her country during World War II by joining the WAVES her parents received a letter from the Navy.
The letter, dated 11 August 1944, congratulated them on their daughterâs service, and assured them that she would be cared for and âprotectedâ in every way possible while serving in the Navy.

Cape Cod nursing homes balance COVID-19 prevention, social isolation

Falmouth woman named 2020 recipient of Royal Megansett scholarship

Addison Landry, of North Falmouth, received the scholarship to study nursing at Albany Medical College.
The foundation, formed in 2003 to address the shortage of nurses in Southeastern Massachusetts and Cape Cod, has awarded more than $500,000 in scholarships to nursing students and other allied health profession students, according to a statement from the Royal Megansett Nursing and Retirement Home. ....
