AN exclusive run of calendars has been produced out of an idea borne during the first lockdown in March, Arncliffe-based artist Kitty North, along with The Art Shop Ilkley organised an art competition and the contest attracted more than 100 entrants ranging in age from six months to 90 years. “Stay At Home, Take Your Mind For A Walk” was designed to encourage people to get creative and find escape through art. One entrant said it was the first time they had picked up a paint brush other than for decorating in well over 40 years. On the theme of Spring, the budding artists brought the colour and wonder of nature to life, with gorgeous flowers, curlews, blossom trees, lambs, and of course rainbow tributes to the NHS and key-workers.
