Drivers across our area had to deal with this evening. You were better off using a canoe if you wanted to pass through this flooded neighborhood near 56th and mitchell. The water was up to probably past my knee. But that didnt stop the driver of this red car from driving through the saturated area. Madeline templin watched as other drivers did the same. There was someone who was trying to get people to stop but , cars would go around them and they would go re f you would hear their car slowly sputter out. Sheldon this is what the flooding looked like near 43rd street and the kinnickinick river parkway. Drivers sent ripples through the standing water when they tried to plow through. Others tried to divert for higher ground. By night, most of the water in this area had receded and crews cleared the drains to clear whatever was left. What you saw those drivers doing right now is exactly what youre not supposed to do. Or standing water in the road, try to turn around. Do not drive through ....
