KOAM April 14, 2021 2:38 PM Derfelt Funeral Home Garrett (Gary) R Haddock, age 74 of Columbus, KS., passed away at 5:30 am on Monday, April 5, 2021 at Good Samaritan Facility in Hospice care in Olathe, KS. Gary was born on November 13, 1946 to Lavern and Adele (Schallert) Haddock in Pierce City, MO. He graduated from Pierce City High School in 1964 and went on to graduate from Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, KS., with a Masters degree. He served in the US Army from May 1970 through December 1971 and was in Vietnam from January, 1971 through December, 1971 as a SP4. He received The Bronze Star while serving in Vietnam.
