Stormy Seas and gales in February saw disruption not just in Dublin Bay but across routes and services out of other ports, among them ro-ro Bypass-Brexit operations of Brittany Ferries. The operator was forced to cancel freight sailings so to enable Armorique (above) retain a sailing schedule of a new four-route network connecting Ireland directly to the EU via France. THIS evening Armorique departs Rosslare on a scheduled sailing at 20.00hrs bound for St. Malo.

Med ferry: Mega Express Four has been operating in very wintry weather on the Dublin-Holyhead link and last weekend the Irish capital-Cherbourg connection to mainland Europe from where the ferry normally operates France-Corsica. Afloat understands this is the first time the Corsican operator has chartered a ferry to Irish operators. In 1980 the former B+I Line chartered Expresso Olbia, registered in Cagliari, Sardina, but two years later renamed for operator Corsica Ferries as Sardinia Nova. The above scene shows Mega Express Four and a Rickmers 1970 s built fleetmate in the Mediterranean Sea where a sister serves for rivals as Moby Vincent. Dublin Bay ship-scene included Endracht a Dutch flagged heavy-lift general cargoship berthed in Dun Laoghaire Harbour today, loaded a small part project-cargo which is bound for the US. The smart and unusual design at the bridge of the 105m vessel can be seen in this amidships angle alongside Carlisle Pier.
Dublin Bay saw some ships of interest today, firstly the heavy-lift general cargoship Eendracht that arrived in Dun Laoghaire Harbour today to load a part project-cargo bound for the US, ....
