The department issued a broad range of flexibilities to allow school meal programs and childcare institutions. Several meal service flexibilities that enable social distancing are now extended through June 30, 2022.

Lunch products served to students at Dover-Eyota Public Schools are sourced from only local producers. Carrie Frank, food and nutrition director for the district, said that the schools get onions, peppers, cucumbers, zucchini, tomatoes, potatoes, corn, watermelons and cantaloupe from the Eyota-based company Produce Plus and beef from Goldenrust Farm in Eyota.
