Med student body stresses 'we do not think we are superior to nurses' in apology

A union representing medical students has issued an apology for describing as “menial” tasks that its members had been asked to carry out while working nursing shifts in intensive care during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Imperial College School of Medicine Students’ Union said its comments were “wrong”, did not represent the views of all of its members, and had served to perpetuate “longstanding issues of arrogance in medicine”.
“We in no way believe that medical students are in any way superior to nurses, nursing students, HCAs, or any other members of staff in the NHS,” the union said in a public apology published on Twitter. ....
