SC to hear plea seeking GST exemption on COVID-19 related drugs, medical equipment

New Delhi, April 28: In an attempt to pre-empt the medical catastrophe that has afflicted Delhi, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka and some other States, the Government of Jammu and Kashmir has triggered a major initiative to boost the oxygen manufacturing across the Union Territory.
Even as most of the major hospitals in Kashmir are already equipped with independent oxygen manufacturing plants, authorities have stepped up the process of adding six new plants to the system within a fortnight. Two of such plants have been commissioned and made operational in the last few days and four more in southern Kashmir are likely to be in service by next week. ....

New Delhi: The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) on Monday (April 19) supplied 150 jumbo cylinders of medical oxygen to the Uttar Pradesh government, as per directions by Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.
An additional 1,000 cylinders would be provided by the DRDO later. The oxygen would be supplied to hospitals in Lucknow for COVID-19 patients. The COVID-19 situation in Uttar Pradesh has deteriorated further with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath himself testing positive on Wednesday (April 14). ....

COVID-19: Delhi to monitor procurement, distribution of medical oxygen, Remdesivir

Nine officers will be deployed at oxygen filling plants who will oversee operations of medical oxygen suppliers.
The order also stated that 28 drug inspectors will daily monitor the movement of Remdesivir injections in Delhi.
Delhi has been put under lockdown from 10 pm April 19 till 5 am April 26.
New Delhi: After Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal flagged the issue of shortage of medical oxygen and ICU beds in the national capital, the Delhi government on Monday (April 19) deployed two teams of officers to directly monitor procurement and supply of medical oxygen and anti-viral drug Remdesivir. 
The Delhi government will now directly oversee the entire procurement and distribution process of both Remdesivir injections and medical oxygen to ensure adequate treatment for corona patients in Delhi,” the Chief Minister s office tweeted.  ....
