I came to congress in 1989, one of just 31 women in the house and senate and to this committee in 1993 alongside only six other women under the 64member panel. This body is better for the 100 women serving in the 116th congress and for the many women in the room today. Its my honor to address the full committee for my final time as the first woman chair. You know, its ironic [applaus [applause] thank you. Its ironic that back in 1993 i had to choose between serving on appropriations or ways and means. I was fortunate to be given that choice. An Early Morning house fire started after 3 00 and the crews controlled the fire in ten minutes and no one living at the home was hurt. The Fire Fighters say two baby chicks in the garage died in that fire. Couple of brand new little kids with a heating lamp over a card board box created the fire. The fire was put out. The governor granted the request for a Emergency Declaration for the state. A major declaration sounds alarming but itll be a help in spiking the coronavirus. Victims out of the road before then driving away. Pamela osborne is live. Pam, what are we learning about the driver . Reporter well, i actually just got off the phone with the police chief. He tells me they are in the process right now of reviewing Surveillance Video in hopes of getting another lead to track down that vehicle and that driver. The driver was behind the wheel of a pretty unique truck. It is very similar to twotoned maroon and ford pickup with a ladder rack. They believe it is a 1997 model. It may have a broken taillight, a broken passenger side mirror and taillight. They believe 2 man hit two teenagers around 8 15 last night. The victims were crossing between two intersections when they were hit. According to a witness the driver stopped briefly to move one of the people he hit off of the road before taking off. That female victim is in critical condition. No word on how that male victim is doing at this hour. Lets get back to the driver. Police describe him as being 61
