Sharapova back at this table. Welcome. A year ago, a very different time. Maria a very different time. I remember this table, my first interview. Charlie what has happened that you look to as indicative of where your future is . Maria the first step of being back on the court, back playing, has been incredible. It is what i wanted when i was at this table. It is what i looked forward to, that competition that i missed so much of playing the game that i have been doing since i was a young girl. Getting that back in april was extremely special. I have had my ups and downs with injuries and having that memorable u. S. Open a couple of weeks ago. Charlie why was it memorable . Maria memorable for a few reasons. One, because i have not played at the u. S. Open for a few years because of the suspension and previous injuries. It was the first grand slam back after 19 months. There was something more in the air. There is a sense of excitement. There is nothing like going out and playing a prim ....

CSPAN Washington Journal Dave Zirin Discusses President Trumps NFL Comments October 1, 2017

Washington journal continues. Host our next guest is dave zirin. He is the Sports Editor for the nation. I want to get right to it. You wrote, it is exhausting to have a president that gets angrier at outspoken athletes, exhausting how shameless he is about his bigotry, the president never played football. He never served in the armed forces. He frets over what conclusions we draw from the size of his hands. Pitome of a frail brand of masculinity. He longs in psychological textbook as a case study, not in the white house. Guest yes. That is my opinion of the president of the United States. We could add on to that the way he has chosen to express his masculinity, both in sexual conquests and violence against inen and his bullying antics the boardroom. He lives vicariously through football players, soldiers in war, and to me that is the part of trounced speech

That is my opinion of the president of the United States. 45th we could add on to that the way he has chosen to express his masculinity, both in sexual conquests and accusations of violence against women and his bullying antics in the boardroom. He lives vicariously through things like football players, through soldiers in war, and to me that is the part of trounced trumps speech in alabama last friday where he demonized nfl players for practicing dissent in terms of protesting racial inequality in the legal Justice System in an effort to distract us from other issues in the world. I think the part of that speech we forget when he opines for the day when there was more dramatic brain injury in football. He said the game has been to soft. I would remind people this is again he did not play. It is something he was to the vicariously through the violence on the field. Because it ....
