It was may time on the capitan, dry and hot but still nice and peaceful. All the animals in the forest were having a grand old time in the sunshine of spring. There was one little, threemonthold fella in particular who did not have a care in the world. He was spending his time having fun, agrowlin and aprowlin and ascratchin. Thats right. Contested claim we argue with the university of georgia about. The university of georgia were chartered first. The unc charter came a few years later. Unc was first to open and graduated a couple classes before the university of georgia. The university and city were founded at the same time. When this area was selected, there was no town or village. There was a few neighboring farms. There was no town to speak of. On the day they laid the stone for the university building, they had the option of town lodge. The understood if university was going to succeed they needed a town. Im nick mueller, president and ceo emeritus of the World War Ii Museum in new orleans and before that enjoyed a 32year career at the university of new orleans and i will say more about that after the panelists are introduced. We are going to take a little bit of a different approach today and rather than having each panelist stand up to talk about their respective panelists and i. N. S.
