January 28, 2021 There are billboards in Van Buren County with messages for parents, guardians, and the public as well on keeping medication out of the hands and mouths of kids. Specifically, the messaging targets opioids and the need to keep them locked up and safely disposed of. Van Buren Community Mental Health is using a grant from Van Buren County Families Against Narcotics chapter. The grant brought collaboration between Van Buren County FAN, Van Buren County Substance Abuse Task Force, Van Buren Community Mental Health, and the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office to provide an outdoor billboard campaign in Van Buren County to help protect community members from opioid abuse.
