(WFIE) -An exciting back-and-forth contest saw the University of Evansville come out on the winning end of a 7-5 contest against Indiana State on Tuesday afternoon. Senior Katie McLean was the hero, belting a 2-run homer in the 10th inning to help UE (20-19, 8-12 MVC) clinch the season series against Indiana State (17-23, 10-11 MVC) after the teams split last weekâs doubleheader at Cooper Stadium. McLean was 2-5 on the day with three RBI while Jessica Fehr also had two hits. Eryn Gould garnered four walks and scored twice. ....

Play gets underway on Friday with a noon doubleheader before an 11 a.m. contest on Saturday at Robinson-Dresser Sports Complex in Cedar Falls.ESPN3 will carry all three contests. Last Time Out - Taking on Valparaiso last weekend, UE earned its first 3-game MVC sweep since 2019 to improve to 5-1 through its first six conference games.that is the best start since 2002 when the Aces recorded an identical mark through six games ....

(WFIE) - In the final day of a 4-game set against Green Bay, the University of Evansville softball team dropped two contests on Sunday by scores of 6-5 and 6-3 in Decatur. GAME 1 UE (4-4) recorded the opening four runs of the game. Following a scoreless three frames, the Purple Aces jumped on top in the fourth. Eryn Gould delivered a 2-RBI single to score Mea Adams and Mackenzie McFeron. Lindsay Renneisen added a sacrifice fly to bring Gould home. A single run scored in the fourth on a solo shot by Marah Wood. The Phoenix countered with a 6-run sixth inning that included a 2-RBI double by Alyssa Brewer. UE saw one run score in the seventh but could not get the tying run home with Green Bay taking a 6-5 win. ....
