The code is being created in three installments, and a draft of the second installment was released in May.
The latest installment of the code includes development standards that regulate site development and the appearance of future buildings.
Included in the standards being considered are size and subdivision limits, requirements for access and connectivity, provisions for stormwater and drainage, landscaping and buffer yard requirements, site and building design, parking, storage and lighting requirements, sign standards, incentive opportunities, and the expectations for maintenance and operation. Community Development staff is seeking public input on the document and the standards being considered.
The city has three virtual question-and-answer sessions planned: 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. July 7, noon to 2 p.m. July 21 and 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Aug. 4. All three can be accessed online at https://zoom.us/j/9348406430.

The Rochester Parks & Recreation Department is asking for your opinions and feedback on splash pads. Parks & Recreation Director Paul Widman said, “The community engagement that occurred via our 2016 System Plan indicated a desire by the community to add splash pads to our parks. We are very excited to getting closer to that reality. We encourage the community to provide additional feedback through these latest engagement activities.”
