UPDATE (11:38 p.m.): The California Highway Patrol says a 42-year-old Paso Robles man driving a 2016 Dodge Ram Pickup was at the intersection of SR-46 East and Center Street, attempting to turn left on SR-46 East while a 55-year-old driver of a 2020 Toyota Tacoma was driving east in the number 2 lane at approximately 65 mph.
The driver of the Dodge Ram reportedly did not see the Tacoma and entered the intersection.
The driver of the Tacoma tried to avoid the collision but was still struck by the Dodge Ram, according to the CHP.
