Wayne Brown returned to the Holt Line Bridge in St. Clair Township that he dove from into the North Sydenham River as a boy and later burned rubber on as a young muscle car driver.
Brown, who grew up on a farm overlooking the river and bridge, was one of the spectators as politicians cut a ribbon officially marking the restoration of the 70-year-old steel crossing March 12.

Bridge 17 on Concession 4 NDR in West Grey has reopened with an entirely new bridge deck.
A release from the municipality says, “Given the supply chain challenges during a pandemic,the municipality is pleased the bridge was open before year end, and the project was completed on budget.”
Mayor Christine Robinson says in a statement, “West Grey is committed to taking care of our essential infrastructure, and the rehabilitation of this bridge is an excellent example of that commitment.”
Robinson adds, “Additionally, leveraging funding from other orders of government has contributed to our ability ....
