Hewitt Round Robin The Hewitt-Trussville softball team went 4-1 this weekend in the Hewitt Round Robin, pulling wins over Haleyville (15-0), Hoover (8-5), Athens (8-2) and Mortimer Jordan (12-4). For the Huskies (12-1), Jenna Lord collected 11 hits, 10 RBIs and three home runs over the weekend. Kenleigh Cahalan went for 11 hits and six RBIs, Hannah Dorsett added nine hits and Crystal Maze scattered eight hits, seven RBIs and a pair of home runs. ....

Springville bopped 19 hits, including five doubles and a pair of home runs to capture its third win of the season a 15-2 run-rule job at Pinson Valley (3-3) on Thursday night in six innings. Tigers righty Bella Bullington tossed all six frames, holding the home team to no earned runs on five hits, one walk and seven strikeouts. She sat 20 of the 26 batters she faced and surrendured her only two runs in the bottom of the sixth off a throwing error on a Sasha Hughes grounder to third, setting the final score at 15-2. ....
