Sandy Edwards, for many years one of the guiding lights at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, will be inducted Aug. 24 into the Arkansas Women s Hall of Fame in a ceremony at the Statehouse Convention Center in Little Rock. The 2023 selections honor seven women and one organization "who have made significant contributions to the state and their respective fields and stand as positive examples for women everywhere."
Hoover was the first African American woman to be promoted to the Stability Analysis section, the first African American woman to achieve the title of Aeronautical Research Scientist and the first African American woman to co-publish with her supervisor. Hoover s research and calculations helped to design the modern jet wing.

But before those historic women, there was another woman named Dorothy McFadden Hoover whose work was mentioned in the film, and Dorothy was from Hope, Arkansas.
