NUJ calls for fasting, prayers as kidnappers abduct female journalist

Fasting and prayers, according to the leadership of the Adamawa State chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ), are the surest ways of ensuring the immediate release of the kidnapped female journalists, Amrah Ahmed Diska.
To actualize this sole objective, it said there is need for all members of the profession to embark on fasting and prayers.
The said female journalist, whom DAILY POST reports is a nursing mother, was abducted by unknown gunmen last Tuesday at Mbamba in Yola South Local Government Council.
The abducted journalist who is also a News Editor with Adamawa Broadcasting Corporation(ABC) Yola, was said to have fell prey on resumption of office from her maternity leave. ....

The Kidnappers of the News Editor of Adamawa Broadcasting Cooperation (ABC), Hajiya Amra Ahmed who was kidnapped yesterday at her residence in Mbamba in Yola South Local Government Area of Adamawa State capital have demanded for N50million ransom to release the journalist.
A family source said her abductors called yesterday evening demanding for N50 million
According to the source, the news editor is a nursing mother of a six-month-old baby who had resumed duty recently after her maternity leave.
He said the gunmen came in their numbers and forcefully gained entry into the home of the editor and whisked her away while they left behind her six-month-old baby. ....

Some gunmen have abducted a female journalist who is a nursing mother from her resident on the outskirts of Yola, the capital of Adamawa State.
The journalist, Amra Ahmed Diska, is the News Editor with Adamawa State Broadcasting Corporation (ABC), located in Mbamba community in Yola.
It was learnt that about 15 gunmen stormed the residence of the victim in the early hours of Tuesday and forcefully took her away, leaving behind her six-month-old baby.
The kidnappers upon their arrival into the residence broke the sitting room door and gained access into the bedroom, demanding to see the victim’s husband. ....

Suleiman Nguroje, the state police spokesman, confirmed the incident to NAN in Yola, Adamawa state capital.
Nguroje said the journalist was kidnapped at about 1am on Tuesday in her residence at Mbamba ward in Yola south LGA.
“The command received an emergency report that one Mrs Amra Ahmed, a staff of Adamawa Broadcasting Cooperation (ABC), Yola, was kidnapped,” he said.

“Ahmad was kidnapped at about 1 a.m. on Tuesday in her house in Mbamba Ward in Yola South Local Government Area.
“The command has swung into action and the Anti-Kidnap Squad has been deployed.” ....
