Assemblywoman Sharon Quirk-Silva selected our Mayor Peat as the 65th Assembly District’s Gentleman of The Year. He will be attending the 65th Assembly District Recognition Event that honors individuals who have excelled in their contributions to the community. The event will recognize honorees in several categories, including Woman of the Year; Business of the Year; Nonprofit of the Year; Gentleman of the Year; Veteran of the Year; and a Holocaust Survivor.

At its December 14 meeting, the Cypress City Council selected Jon Peat as Mayor and Stacy Berry as Mayor Pro Tem for 2021. Outgoing Mayor Rob Johnson and Mayor Pro Tem Mariellen Yarc were both recognized and presented with gifts of appreciation from the City and City Manager in honor of their eight years serving as Council Members.
Mayor Jon Peat is serving his second term on the Cypress City Council. During his first term on the City Council, he also served as Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem. Mayor Peat is a leader of the Cypress Champions Baseball program, 1st Vice Chair of the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Anaheim-Cypress, and is a member of the Rotary Club of Cypress. Additionally, he serves as a volunteer for the Champions Club special needs ministry and as an elder at SeaCoast Grace Church.
