Taguig's Cayetano says city ready for change, shift to MGCQ – Manila Bulletin

During a meeting of the Metro Manila Council (MMC) last Feb. 17, mayors voted 9-8 for a shift to MGCQ that will allow those 15 to 65 years old to go out of their residence by March.
Cayetano was one of the nine out of 17 mayors who voted in favor of MGCQ.
“I confirm that the City of Taguig was one of those that voted for the transition to MGCQ,” he said in a video posted by the Taguig City government on Sunday, Feb 21.
He said he consulted his brother, Rep. Alan Peter Cayetano, and his wife, Rep. Lani Cayetano, Vice Mayor Ricardo Cruz, and councilors and it was agreed that if health protocols are maintained, “it is also important that the economy should eventually open to allow more Taguig residents to go back to their jobs.” ....

Taguig readies facilities for COVID-19 jabs rollout

In his weekly video report posted on the city’s official Facebook page, Cayetano said one of these vaccination centers is the Lakeshore complex in Barangay Lower Bicutan.
A dry-run will be scheduled in these areas to be witnessed by representatives of the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) and other agencies.
Forty schools that will serve as community vaccination centers are also being readied to ensure that all logistical requirements are in place when the vaccines arrive.
As for vaccine storage, Cayetano said the local government has inked an agreement with world-class Orca Cold Chain Solutions Inc. for the use of its 6,500-square-meter facility in Barangay Bagumbayan. ....

Taguig City leads in the fight against COVID-19

As the world reels from the effects of COVID-19, the local government unit of Taguig City has put effective interventions in place to protect its constituents and address their needs amidst the rapid economic downturn.
Right after President Rodrigo Roa Duterte declared a State of Public Health Emergency in March, the local government, under the leadership of Mayor Lino S. Cayetano, immediately implemented a lockdown in the city an aggressive step aimed at arresting the spread of the novel coronavirus.

The city also set into motion a number of actions that had been laid out in a comprehensive program, including the distribution of stay-at-home packs; free rides for health workers and those who are sick (Libreng Sakay and Libreng Hatid at Sundo); telemedicine; testing; and distribution of various forms of aid to different sectors of the community. ....
